Do I blame others for my anger, behavior, or problems? Blaming is when we over-emphasize the role or responsibility of others in our problems. This doesn’t mean that others are always innocent; however, to place too much emphasis and responsibility on others’ wrongs is unhealthy and ineffective. Blaming only leads to self-pity and making excuses for unproductive, bad behavior and bad decisions. I cannot afford to continue to play the “blame game.” I cannot continue to use what others did to me, or failed to do for me, as excuses for why my life is not what I want it to be. I must take personal responsibility, no matter what others have done. Am I taking responsibility for my own situation and life?
