Am I acting in my own best interest, or does my behavior constantly dig me a hole that I have to dig out of? You would think that everyone would automatically act in ways that will serve their interests. Most people want to do what’s best for themselves and their loved ones––right? When emotions are involved, they can often get in the way. Emotions can make us lose sight of what is in our best interest. I may have the right to say something negative at a meeting at work but is it in my best interest to? We should strive to behave in ways that serve ours and our loved ones’ best interest. I should ask myself often if what I’m doing, or about to do, will serve me or hurt me. Is my behavior helping me work toward my goals or taking me further away from them?
